LILAC 2017 bursaries now available!

The CILIP Information Literacy Group is now offering a number of bursaries to attend the Librarians’ Information Literacy Annual Conference (LILAC), which will take place at Swansea University from April 10th-12th, 2017.

LILAC logoThe ever-popular bursaries to the LILAC Conference are on offer once more, so if you would like to join a few hundred of your Information Literacy allies in the beautiful surroundings of Swansea’s Bay Campus, look no further.

LILAC 2017 promises to be as exciting, innovative and collaborative as ever. With three enthusing keynotes, 70 enlivening parallel sessions, two entertaining social events and the world’s one and only Lagadothon, it will be an absorbing three days.

The bursary scheme is open to those working in UK sectors that are traditionally under-represented at LILAC. The 4 free places cover the following sectors:

  • Schools
  • Further Education
  • Public
  • Health (NB: those working in HE supporting health courses are not eligible)

The conference place includes 3 days’ attendance at all LILAC sessions and our social events (networking evening and conference dinner). Accommodation and travel expenses up to the value of £250 are also available if required.

To be eligible for a place, you must be a librarian or information professional working in the above mentioned sectors in the UK. You will have to show your commitment to information literacy by writing a short personal statement and explaining what benefits you would gain from attending the conference, and how you intend to use your conference experience in your work.
