CILIP Information Literacy Group Committee vacancies

We’re recruiting!

The CILIP Information Literacy Group (ILG) Committee has two new vacancies, which offer a great opportunity to become more involved with the work of the Group, learn new skills, network, and help advocate for information literacy. All roles are voluntary and, if you’re not already a member of ILG, you would need to join in order to take up the post.

We currently have a vacancy for a Health Sector Representative.  This role is the focal point of liaison between the health sector and ILG. They work with the health sector to maintain and raise the profile of ILG and information literacy as a whole.

We’ve also created a new role, that of Advocacy and Outreach Officer. This role will enable us to continue to work with groups outside the library sector, such as UnionLearn and TeenTech, to raise awareness and understanding of information and digital literacy, and to promote these lifelong skills. In conjunction with the Chair or Deputy Chair, they will represent ILG at external events and meetings, and foster joint initiatives between ILG and relevant groups.

The committee meets four times a year, usually in London, although our next meeting in September will take place in Manchester. We also have a dedicated committee mailing list. Committee members also contribute to general committee work, subgroups, task and finish groups and projects as required.

Please send us your CV and a supporting statement (max. 500 words), showing how you meet the role specification.
