CILIP IL Group committee appoints new members

The CILIP Information Literacy Group would like to thank everyone who responded to our recent call for applications to join the committee. We had a huge response and are delighted to announce the following colleagues have now joined the committee:

Treasurer: Elaine Sykes

Elaine is Team Leader for Business Control at Liverpool John Moores University.  She has worked in an academic library for four years and is responsible for overseeing the library budgets, management information and administration for Library Services.  Her professional interests include developing robust financial and statistical mechanisms to inform decision making and demonstrate value and impact. She is currently studying for an MBA at the Open University.

Membership Secretary: Laura Woods

Laura is Subject Librarian for Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield. She has worked in libraries since 2007 but is relatively new to the world of Higher Education, having previously worked in the legal and charity sectors. Laura is interested in innovative techniques for teaching and embedding information literacy skills.

FE Sector Rep: Anne-Lise Harding

Anne-Lise is Learning Resources Manager at South Essex College. She is currently undertaking the CILIP Leadership programme.

The CILIP Information Literacy Group (ILG) Committee also has two new vacancies, for a Health Sector Representative and the new role of Advocacy and Outreach Officer.

Joining the committee offers a great opportunity to become more involved with the work of the Group, learn new skills, network, and help advocate for information literacy. The deadline for applications is Friday, September 25th, 2015.
