New Voices in Information Literacy Webinar

On Friday 13th December from 2-3.30pm ILG are running a free webinar hosted by Dr Alison Hicks, UCL and Dr Jane Secker, City St George’s University of London. Entitled ‘New Voices in Information Literacy’, the event will hear from four new professionals who have all recently completed their Masters in Library and Information Science / Studies at UCL and City. The short talks are based on each graduate’s dissertation which explored an aspect of information or digital literacy.

The session will be chaired by Jane and Alison who are both committee members of the ILG and programme directors for the respective courses. Hear from our four speakers who include:

  • Katherine Gair (UCL): “Just get on, learn it yourself”: the enablers and barriers to developing workplace information literacy for further education librarians.
  • Amelia Haire (UCL): What does it mean to be information literate for an autistic person in the academic library workplace? (UCL)
  • Mairead Lane (City St George’s, University of London): To what extent should members of staff in public libraries be digitally literate?
  • Veselka Todorova (City St George’s, University of London): Everyday Life Information Seeking Behaviour of Bulgarian Residents in UK

ILG are passionate about supporting new professionals and this webinar is a chance for each graduate to share their research with the wider community. We hope you will join us for what we know is going to be an exciting event. Book your free tickets here: https://buytickets.at/cilipinformationliteracygroup/1484265
