What is your role on the committee?
I am the ILG Membership Secretary.
When did you join and why?
I joined the group committee back in May 2016. Having been involved with a number of CILIP groups in the past, it looked a really interesting opportunity to get involved with the group and keep professionally active.
What do you do in your committee role?
I am the first point of contact for the group and reply to member queries or redirect them to the appropriate person in the group to answer them. I also edit the e-newsletter, which comes out a few times a year to all group members to keep them up to date. In addition, I manage the group’s Jiscmail list lis-infoliteracy.
What is your day job?
I am the Team Leader for Learning Resources at Vision West Nottinghamshire College, a general further education college in the East Midlands. I am responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our learning resource centres, and am also the subject liaison link for English and mathematics in the college.
What are your other interests?
I am a member of the British Red Cross and provide first aid at public events, train new volunteers and respond to emergencies. I am also a school governor for my local primary school.
