Dear IL Community
The call for presentations for LILAC 2025 will open on the 7 October and we are especially excited for this year as it is LILAC’s 20th birthday.
There are a variety of different ways that you can present your work at the conference, so you can choose the best format for your work and for you. To feel inspired and to look for the kinds of work others have shared then look at the LILAC archive, where you will find previous years presentations and conference programmes which include abstracts.
There are no set themes for the conference, simply information literacy. You could consider the following:
What have you been exploring within your IL practice?
Is there something new that you want to say about IL research or practice?
Can you show us what you have been doing in your IL context?
If you are unsure about what to submit or what you want to do doesn’t fit any of the presentation types, then get in touch with us for a chat. You may also find it useful to understand what the proposal reviewers are looking for: as well as originality they want to see what you are presenting – are you describing something or analysing something? How have you found out what you are presenting? And finally, what can delegates take away from what you are presenting? Try writing your proposal up as an abstract and ask colleagues to give you some feedback before finalizing the content of your draft.
Once you have written your proposal, submitting is easy. Register on the LILAC website and then submit your proposal online. The call for presentations will remain open until 14 November 2024 (17:00 GMT)
LILAC 2025 will take place 14-16 April 2025 at Cardiff University. We look forward to seeing you there.
Sam Aston, LILAC Deputy Chair & Programme Manager, and Jess Haigh, Programme Support Officer.
