Library TeachMeet – 3rd July 2024 Royal Holloway, University of London

The Academic Liaison team at Royal Holloway, University of London  are hosting a free Library TeachMeet on the theme of “introducing students to library services” on Wednesday 3 July 2024, 13:00 – 16:00, at their campus in Egham, Surrey, TW20 0EX. Refreshments are being kindly sponsored by Gale.

If you haven’t attended a TeachMeet before, they are informal events where experiences and ideas are shared. We are looking for speakers and audience members to join us. If you would like to give a 5 or 10 minute talk, we would love to hear about your approach to welcoming students to the library and introducing them to library services in their first few weeks of University.

This could include exploring topics like:

  • Does the traditional library induction still have value?
  • Innovative approaches to engaging with new students
  • How to reach students who don’t have an induction
  • Making the library a welcoming space for everyone

Our aim is that attendees will take away practical examples that they can use in their own institutions. As well as the presentations, there will be time for discussion and networking. You will also be able to visit our current exhibition, The Cave Hunters and the Truth Machine. Royal Holloway is located in Egham, which is only a 40 minute train journey from London Waterloo or Reading. The TeachMeet is open to all and attendees can register as speakers (5 or 10 minute slots available), or audience members.

Book your place!

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Emma Burnett if you have any questions.
