Launching LILAC 2017

LILAC 2017 will be taking place at Swansea University’s beautiful Bay Campus, from 10th-12th April 2017. The LILAC committee have been working hard preparing everything in advance of what we hope will be another inspiring and enjoyable 3 days.

As autumn approaches we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight a few upcoming dates for your diary, and introduce our first two confirmed keynote speakers.

Call for Papers

Our call for papers is now open! It’s time to start drafting your abstracts as our submission system will be opening in early October. We welcome proposals from all sectors and contexts and just ask that you make explicit reference to information literacy.

Find out more on paper formats and details on how to submit your abstract.

The Lagadothon

This year the Lagadothon makes a triumphant return to LILAC after its success in 2016. This is an exciting opportunity for you to showcase your innovative ideas at their prototype stages in order to get feedback from your peers, and also potentially win a cash prize.

See our website for full details on how to take part.

Bursaries

We’ll also soon be launching the LILAC bursaries, which award a free conference place (including help towards travel and accommodation costs) to the winning applicants. We offer these to librarians in the health, further education, public and school library sectors. Bursary applications will be accepted from 1st-30th November 2016.

Find out more and download the application form.

First LILAC keynotes are announced!

Our first confirmed keynote is Barbara Allan. Barbara is an independent consultant with extensive experience working in further and higher education, with a focus on enhancing learning and teaching. Barbara is a National Teaching Fellow and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Josie Fraser is our second confirmed LILAC keynote. Josie is a Social and Educational Technologist who has worked across education, government, not for profit and commercial sectors developing and promoting the use of social technologies within education.

You can find more information about the conference venue, social events and keynotes on the LILAC website. We look forward to seeing you in Swansea!
