What is your role in the committee?

I am a new member of the Information Literacy Group Sub-Committee for New Professionals. Joining from the academic libraries sector.

When did you join and why?

I completed my MA and Library and Information studies from Aberystwyth University in 2020. My background is in the visual arts, and I am interested how information skills can be developed in meaningful ways, particularly considering emerging technologies such as generative AI. This group is a great opportunity to share practice and connect with professional in the field!

What do you do in your role?

I contribute towards running the randomised Coffee Trials and you can find me at LILAC 2025. I hope to be more involved with committee activities throughout my time here.

What is your day job?

I am Learning Teaching and Research Support Librarian for Birmingham City University’s faculty of Arts Design and Media. I specialise in the unique role of information literacy for the visual arts and am always interested in discovering new ways to make learning information literacy fun, engaging and relevant for students in practical arts subjects.

What are your other interests?

In my free time I enjoy several creative hobbies including baking, painting and making clothes. I’m always up for challenging myself to try something new! I also love traveling to new places to discover creative arts from other cultures.
