We have two exciting playful learning news items for you!
Firstly, a new Diamond Open Access journal has just been launched that welcomes contributions from playful IL people! The Journal of Play in Adulthood covers topics including the role of play in learning, work, our social and cultural lives, the benefits to individuals and society, and the interrelationship between play and other areas of adult life. The journal accepts manuscripts based on original research from a wide range of disciplines, as well as extended essays, thought pieces, articles from practice, and reviews. A general call for papers is now open, and they welcome submissions around playful learning and working in library settings, especially playful approaches to information literacy support.
Secondly, it’s time to register for this year’s Playful Learning Conference. This will take place in Leicester on 10-12th July 2019. The conference is playful in approach and outlook, yet underpinned by robust research and working practices. It provides a space where teachers, researchers, students and a lot of librarians can play, learn and think together. Early bird registration rates are currently open.
