The CILIP Information Literacy Group is sponsoring a free LibTeachMeet event that is being organised by Learning and Information Services at the University of Wolverhampton on Thursday, 10th July 2014.
The theme is information literacy skills and the new student. The event will focus on innovative information literacy and skills practice in relation to new students, explore how best to measure its impact and look at tools and techniques that are out there for its promotion. The event is aimed at information professionals interested in bridging the transitional gap between Further and Higher Education, and all are welcome.
You can choose a 5 or 10 minute slot to present (in whatever manner you choose) to colleagues on the themes of the day, or attend as an audience member ready to join the discussion. Visit the event webpage to book a place.
You can see some example materials from similar recent events on the Library TeachMeet wiki.
The LibTeachMeet will take place on Thursday, 10th July, 13:00-16:00. Registration will take place from 12:30-13:00. Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. Please let the organisers know if you have any dietary requirements.
The event will take place at the Harrison Learning Centre, MD Building, University of Wolverhampton, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1LY. The venue is only a short walk from both Wolverhampton train and bus stations.
