Do you have an information literacy research idea in mind and need some funding to make it happen? The CILIP Information Literacy Group provides funds of up to £10,000 per proposal for high quality research through an annual bursary scheme. This funding is to support practitioners (who are IL Group members) in producing well-framed research.
Methodological strategies can be either qualitative, quantitative or both. Approaches can range from small-scale action research to large-scale quantitative studies (or a mixture of the two).
Research into the effectiveness of information literacy has been published fairly widely, but there are pockets of IL research that have either not taken place at all or have not reached beyond the academic domain. These areas include research in the third sector, various aspects of the workplace, citizenship, and more.
The IL Group would like to help to fill some of those gaps and is therefore seeking imaginative proposals that have the potential for high impact beyond HE and librarianship.
Please note that the principal investigator (the person who leads the research) must be a member of the CILIP Information Literacy Group.
You can find out more about this exciting opportunity on the CILIP website.
