The University of Liverpool’s Libraries, Museums and Galleries is set to host an international online conference, bringing together experts, educators and researchers from around the world to explore the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence.

The AI Online Conference 2026, delivered via Microsoft Teams from 9am to 4.45pm BST (UTC+1) on Friday 24 April, 2026 will feature contributions from the University of Liverpool alongside a network of partner universities and national bodies including Sumy State University (Ukraine), the University of Georgia (USA)Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU, China), the University of Bergen (Norway), and The National Archives (UK).

The conference theme, ‘Confidence, Competence and Context: Building collaborative approaches to AI literacy in learning, education and research’, reflects growing momentum across the sector to strengthen shared understanding of AI technologies and their impact on teaching, learning and academic practice.

The University of Liverpool and its global partners invite educators, researchers, students and professional services staff to join this timely conversation on the future of AI literacy and collaboration.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of sessions designed to spark dialogue, share good practice and examine both opportunities and risks associated with AI. Planned sessions include:

  • AI literacy and critical engagement
  • Ethical and societal implications of AI
  • AI in assessment and academic integrity
  • The role of libraries in an AI‑driven academic environment
  • AI for developing academic skills
  • Challenges and opportunities for students and young people
  • AI in research and considerations for wellbeing
