The CILIP Conference + Expo (7-8 July, Liverpool) is one of the largest and most eagerly anticipated events in the library and information sector and we can offer one full delegate place with one night’s accommodation as a bursary place.
For the first time in three years, the event will be in person, and will be taking advantage of all the benefits of meeting face-to-face. The sessions will encourage free-flowing conversations, collaborations with like-minded professionals, the sharing of ideas and experiences, as well as being packed with practical tips and inspiring presentations.
CILIP Conference + Expo brings together around 500 professionals from across the sector to share experiences, knowledge and expertise. The keynote speakers include Professor Jacqueline McGlade, Sayf Al Ashqar, and Vanessa Kisuule. The programme is being finalised but you can see an outline of the session content here. Keep up to date by following @CILIPConf22
ILG will have a stand in the exhibition hall, so remember to come and say hello, find out about our event schedule and see you can get involved with our projects.
We can offer 1 sponsored bursary which includes complimentary full conference delegate place* with 1 nights’ accommodation at the Jury’s Inn. Travel costs are not included in the bursary.
*a full conference place includes attendance at both days of the conference, access to all sessions, refreshment breaks and lunches and ticket to drinks reception on 7th July.
To submit your application for the bursary place, please submit a short personal statement of under 500 words outlining why you would like to attend to ilgrouptraining@gmail.com.
Applications will be marked and ranked according to the following criteria, so even if you feel you do not meet all of the criteria, it may still be worth applying.
- Never having attended the conference before.
- A clear demonstration that you would not be able to attend the conference without the bursary.
- Belonging to a group that may be underrepresented in the profession.
- A clear sense of how you would benefit from the conference, particularly related to the knowledge and practice of Information Literacy.
Understand that as part of the funding conditions you will need to promote the sponsorship of the group and produce a report for the CILIP Information Literacy Group within two months of
the event. This will be published on the Information Literacy Group blog.
Deadline for entries is 22nd April and applicants will be notified by 6th May.
Alternatively, early bird discounts are available until 27 May and you can book these directly on the CILIP Conference website. Remember to log in to the CILIP website before booking so that it recognises your membership status and offers you the correct delegate rate.
