To mark the occasion, we would like to call for contributors to our “Information Literacy: 50 years in 50 words” campaign. We would like contributors to send us a 50 word summary about Information Literacy – from how they have been impacted by working within the field to their views on IL in the future, all of which we will edit into a post for the blog and share across our social media platforms.
For your contribution, you could consider one or more of the following questions:
- What does IL mean to you?
- What do you think have been the key developments in IL over the last 50 years?
- Where will information literacy be in another 50 years?
You can send us your entry via email to ilgcommsteam@gmail.com. If you prefer, you can send us your entry via social media on X, LinkedIn, BlueSky, or Mastodon using the hashtag #infolit50.
For an extra bit of celebration, when you send us your entries, you will be entered into a draw to win one of three books on Information Literacy from Facet Publishing!
The deadline for entries is Saturday 9th November – a date chosen to coincide with the the Universal Information Literacies Association event (of which Paul Zurkowski, the progenitor of IL, was a founding member) taking place in Washington DC to mark the occasion.
We look forward to reading your responses!
