NoWAL event on collaborative approaches to Information Literacy

NoWAL consortiumNoWAL is running a free event for its members on “Collaborative approaches to Information Literacy” at Manchester Metropolitan University on Monday, 16th June 2014.

The event aims to give participants an opportunity to learn from the good practice of presenters who have innovated and developed their practice by working collaboratively.

The speakers for the event include staff from different HE and FE institutions, who will discuss how they have collaborated with different professionals, both across their institutions and externally.

As a result of attending this event, participants will have a greater understanding of how to develop integrated approaches to information and digital literacy practice. There will be a focus on how collaborative practice can raise the profile of IL beyond the library and enable services to work more efficiently, with stronger outcomes. Attendees will learn practical ways to share information and knowledge beyond immediate teams, and how to build relationships to make better use of existing resources and aid skill development.

You can book your place now for the event, which takes place on Monday 16th June, 2014, 10am-4pm. The event is free of charge to CILIP IL Group members and NoWAL staff. Refreshments  and lunch will be provided.

NoWAL is a consortium of the UK University and Colleges of Higher Education libraries in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. The event is part of the consortium’s Continuing Professional Development programme.
