UUK / Guild HE Copyright Summer Event
The Information Literacy Group is sponsoring a one day workshop aimed at university copyright officers or specialists, hosted by Universities UK and GuildHE Copyright Working Group. The day will consider the relationship between licences offered to the HE sector and copyright exceptions. Chaired by Professor Ronan Deazley, from the School of Law at Queens University Belfast, it promises to be an engaging and exciting event.

Models for Copyright Education in Information Literacy Programs
This day-long event is jointly organised by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions’ (IFLA) Copyright and Legal Matters Advisory Group and the IFLA Information Literacy Section. It will be held at the 83rd IFLA World Library and Information Congress in Wroclaw. Attendees will discuss models for education on copyright, licensing, and other legal matters within the scope of information literacy programs. The session will be devoted to methodologies for providing a comprehensive knowledge of the legal landscape for copyright, licensing, and related legal and policy matters in libraries and universities.

Attendance will be strictly limited to 100 people, including presenters, and due to room capacity, they will not be able to make exceptions, so register soon! Jane Secker (Copyright and Digital Literacy Officer, and Chair of CILIP Information Literacy Group) and Chris Morrison (Copyright and Licensing Compliance Officer, University of Kent) will be joining the panel to discuss copyright education and information literacy from a UK perspective.
