Reporting to the Events Team manager, you will collaborate with the team to help organise and host our online events. It is a great opportunity to gain events management experience, keep up-to-date with current information literacy issues and grow your professional network. No prior ILG committee experience required.
New Professionals sub-committee members
We are hiring five members to the New Professionals sub-committee.
The sub-committee brings together students and early-career professionals who are passionate about information literacy. The group works on projects that support new professionals, including networking activities, professional development opportunities, blog posts and the Chatting Info Lit podcast.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills, expand your professional network and contribute to the future of information literacy. We welcome applications from students and new professionals from all sectors. No previous committee experience is required, just enthusiasm for information literacy and a willingness to collaborate with others.
The deadline for applications is Monday 28th September 2026. Please send over a personal statement detailing your experience and how you meet our requirements (this can be completed either in written form at 350-500 words max, or a pre-recorded voice note or video), and a letter/statement of support from your line manager (where applicable).
Please send applications and any informal enquiries regarding the Events and Communications positions to cilipilg@gmail.com and to ilgnewprof@gmail.com for applications and enquiries regarding the New Professionals roles.
Applicants are encouraged from all sectors, including new professionals and students who have a particular interest in promoting information literacy. We particularly welcome applications from BAME, disabled, LGBTQ+ and male candidates, who have historically been under-represented on our committees.
