What is your role in the Committee?
I am a member of the Information Literacy Group’s sub-committee for New Professionals.
When did you join and why?
I joined in August 2025. In my role, I teach information literacy to undergraduates and postgraduates at a university, and I am particularly interested in how students interact with and find information in today’s rapidly changing digital environment, including the role of AI in information seeking habits. I’m passionate about ensuring students not only access information but also understand and critically engage with it. Joining the committee felt like the perfect way to connect with others who share this interest and to explore how information literacy can evolve to meet new challenges.
What is your day job?
I work as a Library Officer at St Mary’s University Twickenham within the subject librarian department. My work includes delivering information literacy sessions and programmes to students, both in group settings and one-to-one. Alongside teaching, I run wellbeing initiatives such as crafternoons and board game afternoons to encourage students to make use of the library. I have also been part of a small team creating an information literacy framework from scratch and have worked on a project to encourage librarian-led information literacy sessions to be embedded within academic modules. Lastly, my background is in performance and theatre arts and I put these skills to good use by doing voiceovers and videos for a variety of projects across the university.

What are your other interests?
Outside of work, I am an avid reader, with a particular love for fantasy novels. I also adore knitting and you can often find me listening to an audiobook knitting a cosy jumper!
